One morning very early, as I was returning from a long walk, I spotted a dark shape coming up the road towards me. I stopped in my tracks and watched as the shape kept coming towards me. At first I thought it was a dog, but noticed it was walking like a cat. As it turned on a side road and disappeared into the jungle, I realized it was jaguar. There was no fear, just a sense of honor that this powerful animal had showed itself to me. From that encounter grew this painting.
